Our tour not only provides interesting information about the architectural style and interior design of the opera house (listed for preservation), which was the only new opera building in the GDR to open in 1960 and has excellent acoustics. A look behind the scenes completes the insight into a house that has been in the tradition of 325 years of musical theater cultivation in Leipzig.
